Indonesia will also offer 10 oil and gas blocks in the South China Sea

In 2022, Indonesia auctioned 13 oil and gas fields and using six, in 2023 it plans to offer 10 oil and gas work areas, including a blockade in the South China Sea, to increase energy production and make new discoveries.

The oil and gas fields that Indonesia plans to offer are areas located in Natuna D Alpha, or giant gas fields located in the South China Sea.

The aim of the country is to achieve crude oil extraction and gas uplift by 2030.

Eni plans to zero gas supplies from Russia in winter 2024/2025

This may be possible because the supply agreements from Algeria, considered a strategic partner for Italy, are renewed annually.
In addition to the connection with Algeria, Italy also has a pipeline connection with Libya to which is added the liquefied natural gas sector with Egypt, Nigeria, Angola, Congo and Mozambique.

Currently, 50% of the gas coming from Russia has been recovered mainly thanks to the pipelines with Africa.

The plan of Italy to become the Hub of the Mediterranean

The objective is to make the Italy HUB of the Mediterranean and Europe and launch the “Mattei Plan”, over five years, using seven regasification plants and five pipelines from the South, between Africa, Israel and Azerbaijan.

The agreements signed by Eni and the Algerian energy company Sonatrach, provide for the identification of opportunities to increase energy exports from Algeria to Italy also through the construction of a new pipeline to transport hydrogen, the laying of an electric submarine cable that supports the existing gas pipelines, the increase of the ability to produce gas by Algeria through new exploration campaigns, the productivity of the plants eliminating methane leaks into the atmosphere.

Qatar is ready to supply more gas to Europe by 2027

In late November 2022, Qatar-based QatarEnergy announced that it had signed an agreement to export liquefied natural gas to Germany for a period of at least 15 years.

According to the agreement signed with ConocoPhillips, from 2026 will be exported up to 2 million tons of LNG to the European country, as it is considered one of the largest gas markets in Europe.

Qatar would be ready to supply the international markets with 18 million tons of natural gas per year by 2024, highlighting that the projects to develop the liquefied natural gas industry are among the greatest achievements achieved in 2022 by the Gulf Country.

Natural Gas, USA: Freeport restarts plants

The Freeport LNG Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Export Facility in Texas has begun receiving pipelined natural gas; US LNG exports have been steadily increasing for years, and Freeport, the US’s second largest LNG export facility, is one of several key shipping facilities around the world.

Some Freeport officials said the plant would be on track to restart in the second half of January, pending regulatory approvals, but no applications have yet been filed with federal regulators to restart the plant.

Eni and Snam complete the agreements for gas pipelines with Algeria

The transaction makes it possible to enhance the respective skills of Eni and Snam in the procurement of natural gas in Italy.

The acquisition by Snam of the stakes held by Eni in the companies that manage the two groups of international gas pipelines linking Algeria to Italy, in particular the onshore gas pipelines which extend from the border between Algeria and Tunisia to the Tunisian coast and the offshore pipelines linking the Tunisian coast to Italy.

The transaction makes it possible to enhance the respective skills of Eni and Snam on a strategic route for the security of natural gas supplies in Italy, favoring potential development initiatives in the hydrogen value chain also thanks to the natural resources of North Africa.

Eni announces new discovery of a gas field in Egypt

The Eni group and the Chevron oil company have declared that they have made a new gas discovery in an Egyptian offshore field in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Nargis-1 well, off Egypt, was drilled in 309 meters of water by the drillship Stena Forth, encountering approximately 61 meters of gas-containing Miocene and Oligocene sandstones.

The discovery can be developed by exploiting the proximity to existing Eni infrastructures.

The Egyptian state-owned EGAS said the number of reserves in the well is under evaluation and will work with Chevron and its other partners to start production as soon as possible.

IVS “Roberto Brevi Scholarship for Education in the Valve Industry” has started!

On December 14th, OMB Valves Spa, hosted a group of students of the technical high school “ITIS P. Paleocapa” of Bergamo, Italy, for the launch of the “Roberto Brevi Scholarship for the Education in the Valve Industry”.
The scholarship is conceived within the framework of the “IVS Young” project for the involvement of young people and students in the valve industry.
The scholarship is dedicated to the memory of the entrepreneur Mr. Roberto Brevi, founder of OMB Valves group, a diversified manufacturer of valves for the energy industries with its headquartered in Cenate Sotto, Bergamo, Italy.
I.T.I.S. P. Paleocapa is an industrial technical high school in Bergamo, Italy. It offers various specializations in its school curricula: IT, Electrical, Mechanical and Textile Engineering.
The project is funded by IVS Organizers, Confindustria Bergamo and Promoberg Srl, together with the Brevi family and OMB Valves Group.
The students has begun the project work in 2022, to be developed during the next 2 school years. Norway expects a jump in oil and gas production near record levels

Norway expects oil production to increase by 6.9% this year, while gas volumes remain unchanged, near record levels.

Norway overtook Russia as the largest gas supplier last year, with Equinor (EQNR.OL) the top exporter, after Europe reduced its dependence on Russian gas supplies.

Production of crude oil and other petroleum liquids such as condensate is likely to increase, this will help ensure Norway can continue to be a reliable energy supplier to Europe.

Russia ready to reopen the Yamal-Europe pipeline

Russia is willing to resume supplies through the Yamal-Europe pipeline and is holding negotiations for an increase in supplies through Turkey after the creation of a gas hub in Erdogan’s country.
Russia currently supplies gas through the TurkStream, which is currently operating at full capacity, while 42 million cubic meters of gas pass through the Ukrainian route daily.

Russia has agreed with Azerbaijan to increase gas supplies for domestic consumption and is in discussions to increase gas supplies to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

They can also send their gas to the markets of Afghanistan and Pakistan, either using the infrastructure of Central Asia or with an exchange from the territory of Iran.
