Aker BP develops the North Sea Valhall area
New Aker BP projects offshore Norway are reaching $1.3 billion. This amount includes the operated Ærfugl, Valhall Flank West, and Skogul developments and the company’s share of the Johan Sverdrup development. Valhall (southern North Sea) is progressing ahead of plan, so that during 4Q the rig will start production and next year other developments of the Tor formation are due to start-up too.
Under a new project, Aker BP aims to redevelop the Hod old fields to recover the remaining 64 MMboe resources through a new 12-slot unmanned installation, as well as undertaking exploration and appraisal drilling that may include HP/HT wells and/or additional well slots.
