- Shelf Drilling Secures New...
Shelf Drilling, a leading contractor in the shallow water offshore drilling sector, has recently announced securing a new contract for its Shelf Drilling Perseverance jack-up rig. This contract has been awarded by the PetroVietnam Domestic Exploration Production Operating Company Limited (PVEP POC).
The rig is set to begin its journey to Southeast Asia soon, with operations expected to commence in Vietnam in the third quarter of 2024. The contract spans a firm period of approximately 16 months, with the total estimated value for this duration being around USD 73 million.
Previously operating under the name Noble Hans Deul, the Shelf Drilling Perseverance was engaged by IOG for drilling activities in the UK North Sea. However, this contract was terminated following IOG’s decision to postpone the drilling of the North Sea Kelham and Goddard appraisal wells.
