- TotalEnergies Extends Contract with...
Northern Ocean has announced that TotalEnergies, through one of its subsidiaries, has exercised the first option under the Deepsea Mira contract for operations in West Africa. This extension adds 180 days to the firm term of the contract, pushing its duration into the fourth quarter of 2024. The extension is expected to generate additional revenue backlog of between $68 million and $75 million, excluding bonuses, reimbursables, and other potential undeclared options.
Deepsea Mira commenced its drilling contract with TotalEnergies in Namibia in June 2023. The rig is a 6th generation, world-class, dynamically positioned/anchor moored semi-submersible drilling and service unit. Its design is based on the Moss Maritime CS60E model and is capable of operating in both benign and harsh environments. Equipped with a full conventional mooring spread, Deepsea Mira can operate in water depths ranging from 70 to 500 meters. Owned by Northern Ocean and managed by Norwegian drilling contractor Odfjell Drilling, Deepsea Mira represents a significant asset in offshore drilling capabilities.
