Amazon plans to invest in a new 115MW wind farm project

Amazon is about to become one of the largest single corporate buyers of renewable energy in the country. In fact, the internet giant is working on a new renewable energy project, a 115MW wind farm located in Ardderroo, Galway. The wind farm, which will be ready by 2022, will power the Amazon Web Services data centers in Ireland, 185,000 homes annually and offset 366,000t of carbon emissions. The company aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 and is planning to be powered 100% by renewable energy by 2025.
