- Weatherford Secures Major 5-Year...
Weatherford International has announced its success in securing a significant five-year contract with Petrobras in Brazil, following a competitive bidding process. The contract, set to begin in March 2025, involves providing ultra-deepwater offshore intervention systems and services, specifically Drill Pipe Riser (DPR) systems.
This agreement, encompassing seven DPR systems, is an expansion from the current six-system contract initiated in November 2020. Weatherford is recognized for its leading-edge Intervention Workover Control Systems (IWOCS), which offer comprehensive solutions for a variety of offshore tasks. These tasks include the installation of tubing strings or tubing hangers, well testing and appraisal, spool-base operations, and the installation of both vertical and horizontal Christmas trees. Furthermore, the systems are adept at wellhead-tree cap installation, well-intervention operations using workover blowout preventers, and facilitating early well tests for oil or gas production. Enhancing their service offering, Weatherford is integrating its advanced digitalization solution, the Centro well construction optimization platform. This platform is designed to provide unparalleled operational transparency and efficiency, further solidifying Weatherford’s position as a leader in offshore intervention solutions.
