Eni signed new MoU with Sonatrach

Italian oil and gas Eni company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sonatrach’s new CEO Rachid Hachichi. The agreement encompasses gas supplies and the transportation through the pipeline crossing the Mediterranean Sea for the forthcoming years.

Nigeria plans to double crude oil production

Nigeria plans to almost double oil production and triple its refining capacity by 2025, in a perspective for reaching the country’s oil independence. The OPEC member is looking to pump 4 MMbopd by 2025 and increase refining capacity to 1.5 MMbpd.

Norway plans new blocks in the Barents Sea

Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy Kjell-Borge Freiberg proposes to add 90 new blocks across the Norwegian Continental Shelf. More than half of the proposed blocks are in the Barents Sea. Norway currently has only one producing field in the Barents Sea – Var Energi’s Goliat, with Equinor’s Johan Castberg field expected to be the second in 2022.

US sanctions on the verge to stop Nord Stream 2 pipeline

The Trump administration is seriously considering new sanctions to stop construction of the proposed Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline. US administration thinks that Nord Stream 2 is a threat to Europe and threatened that if Nord Stream 2 is built, the US will impose sanctions not just on the project, but also on the contractors.

Gazprom completes pipeline for TurkStream project

Gazprom completed the final weld that connects the offshore and the nearshore sections of TurkStream, the huge gas pipeline from the Russian coasts of the Black Sea to Turkey. This act marks the finalization of the entire pipeline system in the Black Sea.

PIONEERING SPIRIT record lift

Processing platform PIONEERING SPIRIT performed a record lift in the form of hoisting four pieces – the two final platform topsides, a bridge and a flare stack – of the Johan Sverdrup project. The processing platform record lift – nearly 26,000 tonnes – was carried out in only four hours with a clearance of just 25 meters from the rest of the field center.

Eni new contract to TechnipFMC for Merakes gas field

Eni SPA awarded an EPC + transportation and installation contract to TechnipFMC for the Indonesian Merakes field. The contract value is estimated at $ 500 million and covers five wells at 1,500 m WD with 50-km tiebacks to the Jangkrik floating production unit. Eni East Sepinggan Ltd. holds an 85% participating interest in the East Sepinggan PSC.

BP awards new contrcts for Greater Tortue Ahmeyim

BP has awarded new subsea contracts for Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project offshore Mauritania and Senegal. Subsea components will be supplied by McDermott International and Baker Hughes, respectively responsible for the subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF) and subsea production system (SPS).

Goliat field upgrade

Vår Energi, a Norwegian independent E&P company, finalized an agreement with Telenor Maritime to equip the Goliat field in the Barents Sea with 2G and 4G networks. Installation of the equipment would begin in the second quarter of 2019 and the new network will improve safety and emergency response capability in the region.
